Alpacas are very easy care and very easy to handle. At Awatere Alpaca Stud we have around 100 on our 17 acre block. The higher stocking ratio make Alpaca the ideal choice for a smaller block holder or lifestyle farmer. What else do I need to know?
We have a broad genetic base purposefully selected from Australia and North and South America including
- Hemingway from North America
- Conquistador/Warrior and Auzengate from Australia
- Accoyo from Peru.
- These bloodlines place us at the forefront of Alpaca breeding in New Zealand.
Alpacas purchased from us require only 42 days in quarantine before they can be en-route to their destination and all our Alpacas are registered with the NZ Alpaca Association and therefore meet all required breed standards.
